What is MORITINT and who is it for?

Before and after pictures of scalp micropigmentation. Korean Moritint as the dots are placed on the epidermis layer of the skin and appears natural and undetectable.
  • MORITINT is generally well-tolerated — most clients report mild discomfort like light stinging or pressure, not sharp pain. Downtime is minimal: you can return to normal activities the same day, though redness or slight sensitivity may last 24–48 hours.

  • Moritint is deposited in the epidermis, so it is not permanent and will naturally shed over time. Without touch-ups, results can last up to 8 months to one year. With appropriately timed touch-ups, Moritint can be maintained for 2–3 years.

  • Most clients need one to three MORITINT sessions.

    Details:

    • Initial session: color matching, application, and setting foundation.

    • Follow-up session (usually 2–4 weeks later): touch-up to refine density, fill any areas that settled differently, and perfect blending.

    • Additional sessions: may be scheduled if you have extensive scalp/skin conditions, very large treatment areas, or want increased density/coverage. Maintenance sessions every 12–24 months are commonly recommended to refresh pigment as it softens over time.

Factors that affect the exact number:

    • Size of the treated area

    • Hair loss stage and pattern

    • Skin type and how it retains pigment

    • Desired density and cosmetic goals

    • Previous scalp work or pigmentation

  • MORITINT sits in the epidermis, the outermost layer of skin, so each pigment deposit is visible to the naked eye in the same plane as natural hair follicles. Because it’s shallow, light interacts with MORITINT the way it does with real surface features—texture, sheen, and the subtle shadows around the pore—allowing the brain to interpret the dots as authentic follicular openings. The result is a soft, three-dimensional appearance that blends seamlessly with surrounding hair and skin.

Unlike scalp micropigmentation (SMP), by contrast, deposits pigment into the dermis, a deeper layer beneath the epidermis. That depth changes how light scatters and how the pigment ages. Dermal placement can produce a flatter, more uniform look that sometimes reads less like individual follicles and more like surface shading, especially at close range or under varied lighting. SMP can also shift in color or blur slightly over time as the dermal pigment responds to the body’s healing and aging processes.

Because MORITINT is epidermal, touch-ups and color adjustments are more straightforward, and the immediate visual effect tends to remain more convincingly follicular. SMP can be effective for certain goals—such as creating the illusion of density over a larger area—but for a natural, pore-level replication of hair origin, an epidermal technique like MORITINT more reliably mimics how real follicles appear to the eye.

  • MORITINT sits on the epidermis, aligning with the same plane as natural hair follicles. Because it rests at this surface level, Moritint creates a very natural look that blends seamlessly with existing hair.

Scalp micropigmentation deposits pigment deeper into the dermis. That greater depth can produce a less natural appearance, especially if not performed with exacting technique.

SMP is most appropriate for people experiencing significant balding or very thin hair where a fuller, more permanent scalp coverage is needed. SMP is permanent; once placed in the dermis, the pigment does not fade in the same way surface treatments do.

Moritint is long-lasting but not permanent—it offers durable, natural-looking results while eventually fading over time, allowing for adjustments or changes as desired.

  • Already on minoxidil, finasteride, or another hair growth treatment? Moritint works with your routine and not against it.

Whether you're using oral or topical treatments, Moritint is safe to layer in. No interference. No setbacks. Just seamless coverage while your treatment does its thing.

And if you've had a hair transplant? Once you've hit that 8-month to 1-year mark post-op, Moritint is completely safe to use on your scalp — no risk of disrupting your grafts or irritating the skin.

Think of it as the perfect complement to whatever hair journey you're already on

MORITINT is a personalized scalp and hairline service tailored to your unique needs. Nina assesses your skin tone, hair color, hair density, and desired result to design a natural-looking pigment application that complements your features.
